FALL CLUB OFFERINGS

Community Panthers Advocate Together (CPAT) - Ms. Davis, Mr. Thompson - Tuesday - 804

Do you enjoy helping people? Are you interested in learning about how people learn and  different disabilities? Is volunteering your thing? You may be a good candidate for Community Panthers Advocate Together (CPAT). This full year club focuses on learning about different disabilities and helping make a difference for those who do things just a little bit differently. See Mr. Thompson or Ms. Davis for an application.

Debate Club – Ms. Wickizer– Tuesdays– 320
Enjoy arguing? Making your point? Maybe just standing up for causes you believe in? If so, join the Debate Club. Each week you will learn how to become a more confident public speaker, increase listening skills, learn how to debate, be part of a team, and you will learn how to create a winning argument. This club will be fun and fast paced!

End-of-Year Video Club – Mrs. Scibienski – Tuesdays – 8TH GRADE ONLY – Room 617
Be part of the creative team that makes the video to be shown at 8th Grade Salute! You will learn how to use video cameras, video editing technology and personal creativity to produce a fun, engaging video memory for the 8th grade class and their families.  This club will meet October - June.

Environmental Club – Dr. McLelland-Crawley, Ms. Bhame – Tuesdays – 619
Interested in learning more about our environment through activities such as hiking, birding, recycling, water quality testing, school beautification, etc.?  The Environmental Club is designed to expand club members’ knowledge and awareness of the environment and current ecological issues affecting our society as well as the rest of the world.

Gourmet Club – Ms. Buck, Ms. DeVincentz – Tuesdays & Thursdays – Room 502
The Gourmet Club will introduce the students how to prepare easy and fun snacks. Students will work in groups preparing and sampling both savory and sweet treats. Cost - $15 per student to be brought to the first day of the club.

Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) - Ms. Efstathios, Ms. Backman - Wednesdays – Room 302 

Do you think that everyone at CMS should feel free to express themselves and be who they truly are?  Then GSA is the right place for you! Our goal is to help every member of our school to feel safe and free to be who they are, whether they are in the club or not.  We believe everyone has the right to fully be themselves. You will get the chance to create and facilitate school events that will help make people more aware of ways to be more inclusive of LGBTQ+ students, as well as, helping them and their allies in their struggles.  The GSA is a full year club and meets every other week.


Hands Across the Water – Ms. Lee  – Thursday – Room 712
Did you know that CMS has our very own charity school in the Congo?  Each year Hands Across the Water raises money through fundraising efforts and events to keep our school open and make it possible for underprivileged children to get an education.  If you are passionate about humanitarian projects, raising money for charity, educating our student body, and making a difference in the world, this club is for you! Join the club that brought your school awesome fun events like the Color Run, Super Smash Brothers Tournament, Penny Wars, and Hat Days! Panther Press - Ms. Dratch, Mr. Salvador – Tuesday – Room 313 Do you enjoy playing with words? Crafting poetry, essays, bios? Panther Press may be the club for you! Interested in writing CMS news articles, sports summaries or sharing our school’s special events? Join the Panther Press, our digital school newspaper, to get the word out to all of TEAM CommUNITY.

Positive Panthers – Mr. Thompson – Thursdays – Room 804

Positive Panthers support, encourage, and enthuse a positive outlook, mindset, and culture in CommUNITY. Our challenge is to find creative ways to provide a more positive atmosphere for students and staff.  Do you have positivity that you want to spread? Come join the Positive Panthers!

Zumba Club – Ms. Costelloe – Tuesdays – 8th Grade Concourse
Need an outlet to shake off your stress and just let loose? Do you have energy, love to dance or just like to be silly? Do you want to learn about where different kinds of music and dance moves come from? If any of these things sound like you, then you should sign up for Zumba club! Zumba will increase your knowledge about different cultures, build your strength and endurance, and be a fun way to stay healthy.
