About Grover Science Olymapid

                     so

Science Olympiad is a national competition that includes students from all over the United States.  In New Jersey there are three regional competitions. Teams must place in the regional competition to make it to the state competition.  Teams must then win first in the state competition to move on to the national competition.

The competition contains 23 different events which include content knowledge, lab skills, environmental problems, technological skills and building and engineering events.  More information about each of the events can be found on the national Science Olympiad website.

Competitors for each event are chosen based on tryout results.  Out of the 40-50 odd students accepted into the club, two teams will be formed of 15 students each with 5 alternates for a total of 20 students in each team for the regional competition in January.  Of the two teams, only 15 will be chosen to compete for the State competition, with 2 alternates.

The Club meets every Tuesday and Thursday in room A-154, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. As the event dates comes closer, we may meet on Monday or Wednesday as well.

Deadlines and testing for all events will be posted on this website.  Be sure to bookmark this page!
