Week of Respect
October 2nd - 6th
Monday: Blue Pinky Promise
A table will be set up in the Commons where students and staff can get their pinky nails painted blue to symbolize a “pinky promise” to take a stand against bullying!
Tuesday: Wear Blue!
Staff and students - wear blue as a symbol to join in solidarity to fight against bullying.
Wednesday: 2nd Floor Chalk Project
Student volunteers will write positive messages using chalk outside during recess.
Thursday:: “If Not Me, Then Who” Assemblies
Friday: Take the Anti-Bullying Pledge!
Students and staff can sign an anti-bullying pledge during lunch in the Commons. All pledges will be hung on the bulletin board outside Room 315.
School Violence Prevention Week
October 16th - 20th
October 16th:
Challenge: #SaySomething "Photobooth" - Students and staff will have the opportunity to take a picture with their pledge to #SaySomething if they see/hear any warning signs, signals, or threats of violence.
October 17th:
Challenge: Members from the Plainsboro Police Department will be available during lunch to have informal conversations about violence in schools with the students. Suggestions to students: ask about preventing violence in schools, warning signs, and their work
to prevent violence in the community
October 18th:
Challenge: Reach the Un-reached – staff and students will be challenged to get to know at least one student or staff member they currently do not know well.
October 19th: No School for Students
October 20th:
Challenge: Identify two trusted adults – students will tell two adults that they find them trustworthy and would confide in them.
Red Ribbon Week
October 23-27
Monday: Red Ribbon Week newsletter e-mailed to all parents/guardians.
Miss Peters will go into 8th grade health classes.
Tuesday: Miss Peters will have an information table at lunch with "I pledge to be drug free" stickers available.
Wednesday: Unity Day - creation of a unity chain with positive messages. Wear ORANGE!
Thursday: Miss Peters will go into 8th grade health classes.
Friday: Pledge Signing during lunch - Say BOO to Drugs!
