DUTCH NECK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HEALTH UPDATE
April 27, 2021

This afternoon, the school district was made aware of a COVID-19 positive case involving a Dutch Neck Elementary School student who participates in in-person instruction and rides the bus to and from school. Upon contract tracing, out of an abundance of caution and the possibility of exposure, several classmates and bus mates will be quarantined for a 14-day period through May 10, 2021. The impacted students will be prohibited from attending in-person instruction during the quarantine. All students and staff members that were potential close contacts have been contacted by the school administration.

Dutch Neck Elementary School will continue to operate on the Hybrid 1 Week and All-In schedule without interruption.

As a reminder, our WW-P Schools have implemented health protocols as informed by guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the New Jersey Department of Health. When implemented with fidelity, the protocols work to limit possible exposure and spread of COVID-19. There are several critical components to our protocols and they include:

  1. Completion of a Daily Health Screening form.

  2. Social distancing of at least three feet.

  3. Limited direct exposure within six feet for more than fifteen minutes.

  4. Wearing of masks.

  5. Proper handwashing.

  6. Set-up of classrooms that limits contact between staff and students.

  7. High frequency cleaning.

  8. Practice good hand hygiene. Wash hands often with soap and warm water for 20 seconds. Use hand sanitizer.

  9. Daily temperature checks.

  10.  Hallways and restrooms are cleaned and disinfected daily.

  11. All classrooms, offices, and high touch surfaces are cleaned and disinfected daily.

Below are some resources that might be helpful.
