Reminder: For the coming week (May 23-26, 2022) and moving forward, all students (PreK through post grads) and staff at all WW-P schools and offices will be mask optional. Masks will still be required by all passengers on buses, regardless of vaccination status.

Please note that with much of the state remaining in the orange (high) CALI status, masking is strongly recommended.

Dear WW-P Community,

The NJ COVID-19 Activity Level Index (CALI) activity report for the week ending May 14 once again has much of the state of New Jersey in the orange (high) level. For the coming week (May 23-26), WW-P schools and offices will remain mask optional but masks are strongly recommended.

Earlier this week, the FDA authorized a COVID-19 booster shot (to be given at least five months after the second dose) for healthy children between the ages of 5-11 years old. Yesterday, this booster was recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). WW-P is following this news carefully. If/when the New Jersey Department of Health issues additional guidance to K-12 schools, WW-P will inform parents/guardians and update the School Exclusion Chart based on the guidance.

Currently, based on the New Jersey Department of Health’s guidance released Jan. 19, 2022, children ages 12 and older who completed a primary series of COVID-19 vaccine but have NOT received a recommended booster shot when eligible would be required to follow the unvaccinated quarantine requirement should they be identified as a close contact of a COVID positive individual. Vaccine/booster appointments may be found using the NJ Vaccine Appointment Finder website.

Also this week, it was announced that all residential households in the United States are again eligible to receive an additional order of FREE at-home COVID-19 test kits from the federal government. Households are eligible to order eight (8) rapid antigen COVID-19 test kits which are shipped free through the USPS. For more information and to order please click here.

A reminder for next week:

All WW-P schools will be closed Friday, May 27 (unused emergency closing day). All WW-P schools and District offices will be closed Monday, May 30, 2022 in observance of Memorial Day. There will be no Health and Safety Update sent Friday, May 27, 2022.
