Dear WW-P Community,

This week we celebrated American Education Week and the strong bond that home and school plays in creating a safe and productive learning environment for our students. It was wonderful to see so many parents and caregivers in our elementary and middle school classrooms and hallways experiencing a “day in the life” of their children. Thank you to all the building staff, administration, teachers, parents and caregivers who help make this week so successful.

In addition to families joining us in our classrooms for American Education Week, we are excited to welcome parents/guardians and community members to tour several of our schools that had extensive referendum and capital project work over the last several years. On Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, from 9 a.m. -12 p.m. WW-P will be holding capital project and referendum building tours at:

  • Maurice Hawk Elementary School
  • Town Center Elementary School
  • Community Middle School
  • Grover Middle School
  • High School South

To register for a tour, please click here. For additional information, please visit the District website.

As we look ahead to the holiday season, many of us will be gathering with families and friends. I urge anyone who is eligible for the COVID vaccine or booster shot, to register for an appointment at the next upcoming COVID vaccine clinic. In addition, flu season is hitting New Jersey hard, with the New Jersey Department of Health reporting the state influenza level as high around the state. Please contact your family physician or a local pharmacy to make an appointment for the flu shot. The District, in conjunction with the West Windsor Health Department, will hold their next COVID-19 vaccine and booster clinic Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 4-6 p.m. at the Board of Education district offices. Registration is required. Please click here for more information and to register. Adult and pediatric doses and boosters (including the bivalent booster) will be available at the clinic for those who are eligible.

Our school nurses are receiving students in their office who are coming to school sick and/or with fever (100 degrees or more). Please help us keep our school community healthy by keeping students(s) who are ill at home until they are better. Please refer to the school illness exclusion chart when deciding whether or not to send your child to school and when to send them back following an illness.

School Calendar: A reminder to families that all WW-P schools will have an early dismissal Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, and Maurice Hawk half-day preschool is closed. No food service will be provided Wednesday, Nov. 23. All schools and board offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25.

W
ishing everyone a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving Recess.

Sincerely,
David Aderhold, Ed.D
Superintendent of Schools
